Our Chairman David Chaplin
For as long as I can remember I have sketched and doodled and scribbled on walls (sorry mum) taking up painting later in life. I’ve tried most mediums but prefer oil paint, mostly because they are the easiest to use and the most forgiving of my many mistakes. I will try painting almost anything but find myself mostly creating landscapes and figure studies along with commissions from my grandchildren for portraits of their favourite Teddy Bears and Bunnies.
I’m retired now and at long last have the time to indulge my passion for art, and offer some of this time to benefit the art group of which I am now chairman. A roll I am very privileged to hold and one in which I will hopefully be able to help the membership obtain the most enjoyment from their pastime and their artistic endeavours.
